Have you been thinking about transitioning your farm to organic?
Is the thought of all the paperwork just too daunting?

It will vary greatly by size, complexity, and level of assistance requested for your operation.
The application and initial setup will vary from about 8 to 20 hours and usually decrease after the first year depending on your farm’s activity.
Hourly rate is $35/hour.

· Rebecca Talmadge, co-owner and manager of S T Organics, LLC is the lead consultant. Rebecca has been maintaining organic paperwork since 2005. She has numerous hours attending organic workshops and has served on the OCIA Board of Directors. She has successfully helped many farmers certify their farm and maintain certification.

What services do S T Organics, LLC consultants provide?
Assistance with the organic application process:
We can fill in the appropriate blanks, layout the maps, attach necessary documents, etc. for the application.
You will have to gather some basic information about your operation and meet with a consultant to complete the application.
Field visits: We can meet with you and tour your operation to familiarize us with it and point out potential problems that may be of concern pertaining to organic standards. (Example: buffer zones, runoff from conventional fields, on-farm grain storage of both conventional and organic crops, etc.)
Maintain audit trail documentation:
We can set up and help you maintain your field logs.
We can provide and help fill out needed clean out logs/paperwork.
We can provide and help with seed searches.
We can maintain product labels used in your operation.
We can help address non-compliance issues (problems complying with the organic standards).
Assist during inspection:
You will be inspected annually by an inspector and may be given requirements that need to be addressed before the next application. We can advise you on what you can do to comply.
